A NEW FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP WITH KENNOL
The Historic Tour Championship of the French Automotive and Sports Federation is to end its 2022 season on a high note. Indeed, it announced the creation of a new official French Championship with KENNOL. Meanwhile, the biggest national Championship in Europe, with more than 300 drivers each weekend, has 2 titles to be clinched at the finals. One for the GTs, one for the Protos/Single Seaters.
▌ONE OF THE BIG ONES
KENNOL partners the FFSA French Historic Circuits Championship, aka the FFSA Historic TOUR. For 4 seasons now, we also are the official oil of this national championship, with our KENNOL ULTIMA 15W-50. Articulated around 2 official French Champion titles, it races no less than 14 categories! All this is organized under 2 main series. The GTs already saw 249 drivers scoring this season, while there are “only” 134 drivers currently ranked within the Protos/Single Seaters series.
We are to rebalance everyone’s chances with a number of ranked drivers close to 120 in the 3 Championships.
Laurent Vallery-Masson, Historic Tour promoter
The creation of this 3rd official French Champion title is thus aimed at splitting the GT category between 2 new ones: the pre-90s and the post-90s.
▌A RENEWED CHALLENGE
By doing so, the organization is to dramatically renew the challenge of the Historic Tour. Indeed, the balance of performance was impossible to do between a 50yo Austin Mini and a “modern” Ferrari F430. For example. Redistributing the cars , based on their performance, will sort the races. And motivate a whole new class of teams and drivers. And add a new official Championship with KENNOL.
The Historic Tour 2022 will know its outcome on the circuit of Albi. On Sunday evening October 23, at the end of the 21 races of the weekend, we will know the identity of the two new French Champions, as well as the last KENNOL Awards of the season!
