3X EUROPEAN NASCAR CHAMPION

KENNOL products clinch the 3 European NASCAR titles this weekend in Zolder! Under extreme conditions, the KENNOL-serviced cars performed until the finish. And this 2019 finish has been exhilarating in the 3 classes, with even one title decided by less than 1.5 second!

A THRILLING FINISH

The 2019 Euro NASCAR Finals weekend started under a grey sky, but the atmosphere was pretty hot as usual. Indeed, the Belgian track welcomes the European Finals for the 5th time. And amongst the 30 cars and 60 drivers engaged to this Belgium GP, many of them can still clinch a title. Thanks to the double-points races for this final event of a great 2019 season. It started early though, since Elite Club division saw its new Champion Alain Mosqueron crowned Thursday. The Frenchman delivered a solid race to beat the Championship leader.

To stand here now in the Championship battle with only one race left is amazing. I really believe I can win that title!

Lasse Soerensen, future 2019 Euro NASCAR Champion (Elite 2)

But the tension was even more dramatic in Elite 2 class. Indeed, before the last race of the season, the 2 Championship leaders were only separated by 1 point! The 2 Rookies knew that whatever the final rank is, they have to finish before the opponent.

AN ASTONISHING LEVEL

The #66 DF1 Racing and KENNOL-sponsored car did good all weekend long. Sorensen even came back from 6th position, to overtake his rival under the rain, and clinch the title. After missing the 2 first races of the season, it’s a brilliant comeback for his 7th win of the year. However, Elite 1 was a totally different matter, since Championship leader Loris Hezemans “only” needed to finish the race to grab the title. The pouring rain in the final race became an obvious threatening actor! And that was the perfect situation for a newcomer to show his talent.

Indeed, former F1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve took the pole position, and the lead, on his #32 KENNOL-sponsored Camaro! He managed to stay within the 3 first places until the final lap…and disappeared from the TV coverage. Stienes Longin wins the last 2019 Elite 1 race, with 2017-2018 Champion Alon Day in 2. After race, Villeneuve explained that he suddenly lost visibility, and indeed, the rain broke several whippers engines on some cars.

The other European crowns went to Hendriks Motorsport for the teams title, and Loris Hezemans again for the Junior Trophy. This epic Finals close a brilliant 2019 season, in which KENNOL products never let down. The KENNOL ULTIMA range keeps evolving and performing. Because we are born on the track.
