NASCAR CRAZYNESS IN BRANDS HATCH
Brands Hatch might be the biggest Euro NASCAR event of the 2017 season, and KENNOL has been blessed with podiums and a huge crowd enjoying the many shows and races all along the weekend! The KENNOL-sponsored V8 beasts won the 4 races, and the fun and joy around the podiums was almost as intense as the incredible moments the many fans enjoyed for 3 days in this mythical British temple of speed. ▌ A GREAT POPULAR SUCCESS
Everything was perfect, to make something fantastic out of this special weekend: amazing weather conditions, huge crowd of fans, great drivers, mythical track… Indeed, the 2017 American Speed Fest took place in the famed Brands Hatch circuit (UK), and the occasion brought here several big names in addition to the already pretty marvelous roster of drivers taking part in this Euro NASCAR Championship. That’s how a living legend such as Bobby Labonte for example took the wheel of the furious KENNOL-serviced Chevrolet beast #1. And no doubt that the European fans were more than crazy to see the 2000 NASCAR Champion there.
A traditional Euro NASCAR weekend includes 4 races: Elite 1 and Elite 2 fight in two different categories, and each category races on Saturday and Sunday. This gives the fans plenty of time to see the cars, meet the drivers, and enjoy loads of crazy animations between races, all along the weekend. And that’s what the American Racing Spirit is also made of. Entertainment and fun, before pure mechanical and driving performances.
And performance was everywhere on track at Brands Hatch. Israeli native Alon DAY won in a nail-biting finish in the ELITE 1 race on Sunday, while defending series champion Anthony KUMPEN scored Saturday ELITE 1 win while Thomas FERRANDO sweeps the weekend in ELITE 2.
When Alon DAY announced earlier this season he was returning to compete in the Euro NASCAR, he said he wanted to compete for the title and win races. He took a big step in backing up his plan at Brands Hatch this weekend. DAY was able to get past pole-sitter and defending series champion Anthony KUMPEN for the lead, early in the race, and hold off a hard challenge from Frederic GABILLON, to score his 1st win of the season, and 7th of his NWES career. In Saturday’s race, KUMPEN started from the pole and led every lap en route to his 8th career NWES win, and 2nd at the historic race course.
▌ KENNOL PERFORMS AGAIN
For these 3rd and 4th rounds of the 2017 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, KENNOL doesn’t disapoint being Official Partner and Official Supplier of motor and transmission oils. And all the drivers and teams have the perfect weapons to fight on track for the sake of the show!
Marc GOOSSENS, driver : “There was a lot of battling going on up front. Yesterday, the Top-5 was grouped in one tenth, that’s what we call real racing, there’s no need for BOP like other championships. This Series provides good equipment, there are a lot of good competitors and that means a great show for the fans.”
The KENNOL lubes range has demonstrated great performances here through the toughness of the Brands Hatch track, with the ULTIMA 15W50 for the powerful V8 engines of these cars, and the amazing ULTIMA 75W140 for the transmissions.
