Netherlands-based InMotion and KENNOL unveil what looks like the future of electric racing. 100% powered by batteries, this LMP3 prototype will be the first of its breed to race the famed 24h Le Mans. But above all, it will be the first to break all barriers of electric recharging, with the exclusive concept of «electric refueling», in 2 minutes!



ELECTRIC COOLANTS SPECIALIST

KENNOL is now a regular supplier for InMotion. Racing the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the famed Garage 56 with the 1st ever 100% electric racing prototype is the goal. But underneath, in the technical side of things, there are many barriers to break. And many innovations to bring to the game. Not only can we count on our broad expertise in traditional coolants for car and bike, with our 100% biodegradable KENNOL Performance Fluid range (coolants and windscreen washers). But we now also develop different fluids, aimed at the electric engines and vehicles.

And with its 1.2km of cables inside the car, the InMotion prototype is an absolute new breed of cars. We design and manufacture specific coolants for this one. With different concepts, because each need is specific. For example, the heat transfer features of the engine coolant are totally different from the batteries coolant. And this last does need specific additives in order to stay electrically neutral while in contact with electric components. Also, both are absolutely stable to corrosion, whatever the heat or electrical charge.

BREAKING RECORDS

Thanks to those fluids, and to many other innovations within the InMotion Electric Refueling program, the prototype is capable, today, of a full electric recharge in less than 12 minutes. By the end of 2021, the 7mn30sec mark should be passed. Next year, the 4mn barrier is set to fall. And early 2023, the absolute aim: 2 minutes sharp.



KENNOL has also been approached by several other actors and innovators of the future of racing. Say electric, or hydrogen, for example. And even if we stay petrol-heads to the tiptoes, we can’t help but looking for innovation, and designing new solutions for tomorrow.
