BARBOSA REINFORCED FOR THE ILMC SEASON!

Joao BARBOSA, winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona 2010, has just been confirmed in the Level 5 Motorsports team for the 2011 ILMC season. This rookie of weight will support Scott TUCKER and Christophe BOUCHUT, reigning champions ALMS-LMPC, who will also compete in the ALMS-LMP2 championship. In private testing this weekend on the Sebring circuit, the team will undoubtedly quickly take the measure of its new Lola-HPD.

I think the goals are ambitious
because it’s a real leading team.

Joao BARBOSA

We have as much ambition for ILMC as for ALMS in 2011.

TEAM AT TOP

Joao BARBOSA joined the Level 5 Motorsports team for the 2011 international campaign. Winner of the Rolex 24 At Daytona last season, he has already taken part in 7 races in ALMS, driving in GT2 for the Extreme Speed Motorsports team; a real Endurance specialist, therefore. He is going next week to Lola’s headquarters to mold his tub, and is eager for the season to begin:“I’m sure this season is going to be amazing in the LMP2 category. The HPD was the strongest engine last year, and with all the R&D done by Honda in the inter-season, I’m sure we’ll be equipped with the right engine to get wins this year. . As for Lola, there is no secret, it’s one of the best chassis; the combination of 2 will be explosive!”

Like its owner Scott TUCKER, the entire team is taking up the challenge of the LMP2, after a glorious year 2010 during which they have aligned themselves in 4 different championships, have won 2 national titles and 10 races, signed many records of track, have become «test driver» for Ferrari and have even been the subject of a documentary film. “We had an ambitious program in 2010 and I was very happy to see how things went together,” congratulates Scott TUCKER. “But we are certainly not going to stop there.”

Alongside TUCKER we will meet in 2011 the French Christophe BOUCHUT. One of the greatest endurance pilots on the planet. He won everything, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and twice the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps! BOUCHUT is also the only three-time FIA GT World Champion in history, and he has been keeping Level 5 at a very high level since his arrival in 2009.

“I’m still happy to drive for Level 5 Motorsports and Scott TUCKER,” says BOUCHUT. “We have been successful for our first ALMS season last year. We really found ourselves as a team, which bodes well for 2011.” Note finally the recent arrival of Luis DIAZ, Mexico. An ALMS driver since 2007, DIAZ won the LMP2 title in 2009 with no less than 8 victories, including the prestigious 12 Hours of Sebring.

With such crews, there is no doubt that the team will continue the podiums. And next month the Lola HPD LMP2 will roar the famous 12 Hours of Sebring to kick off the seasons ILMC and ALMS. We keep you informed of all the details before, during, and after this event which will undoubtedly be the starting point of a season rich in victories!
