GRAN PREMIO STORICO D’ITALIA BY KENNOL
From October 2 to 4, 2026, the legendary Mugello Circuit hosted the very 1st edition of the Gran Premio Storico d’Italia by KENNOL. An inaugural event dedicated to pure passion, mechanical culture, and heritage, where the sound of some of the greatest Ferrari F1 atmospheric engines once again echoed through the Tuscan hills.
▌THE TEMPLE OF PASSION AND INTERNAL COMBUSTION
Hosting such an event on Italian soil, home to some of the greatest automotive legends, was no coincidence. Over Mugello’s 5.2-kilometer layout, renowned for its sweeping, high-speed curves, historic racing found a stage equal to its prestige. One of the absolute highlights of the weekend came straight from Maranello: the track appearance of 11 legendary Ferrari Formula 1 cars from the golden decade of 1996–2006. Watching and hearing these iconic single-seaters at full tilt, from screaming V10s to early V8s, delivered a rare and deeply moving spectacle for everyone present.
In an era where automotive culture sometimes strays from raw sensation, the Gran Premio Storico d’Italia by KENNOL served as a vibrant reminder of what motorsport is truly about: unadulterated mechanical emotion, fine engineering, and deep respect for racing history.
The pleasure was the same for the crowd of fans than for the teams and mechanics, to listen roaring six-, eight-, ten and twelve-cylinder engines! That is the way you educate youngsters, showing them than a vehicle is about vibration and emotion. That’s how KENNOL was born on the track.
▌KENNOL RACING TEAM IN THE THICK OF THE ACTION
True to its identity as a hands-on motorsport player, KENNOL didn’t just put its name on the event title. The brand was directly competing on track with the KENNOL Racing Team, running two formidable machines: a high-powered Formula Renault World Series 3.5 and the impressive Corvette C7.R GT3 (former Callaway).
Seeing both race cars—lubricated by KENNOL’s flagship high-performance ranges, pushing hard lap after lap on the demanding Tuscan circuit confirms an essential truth: the racetrack remains the brand’s ultimate open-air laboratory. It is right here, under extreme temperatures and brutal mechanical loads, that the endurance and efficiency of products engineered (and made) in France are truly proven.
▌AN EXCEPTIONAL INAUGURAL EDITION
Running a Factory Team is not just a declaration of love, for a motor oil brand. It’s also a statement: we are not just manufacturers of lubes, we are driven by our passion. And that counts when you share the paddock with some of the greatest cars, makes, and drivers of History. To make the spectacle even more memorable, iconic Ferrari drivers such as Eddie Irvine, Gerhard Berger, Giancarlo Fisichella, René Arnoux, Mika Salo, Thierry Boutsen, Stefan Johansson, Nicola Larini, Luca Badoer, and Antonio Giovinazzi joined the track action, climbing back into the cockpits of these mythical machines to revive unforgettable memories.
The formula that made the KENNOL Grand Prix de France Historique a success is back, with this very close proximity, at the heart of the action, accessibility to the cars, talking with the drivers, even on the starting grid.
